After six productive years with Western Iowa Energy and one other attempt to retire, Joe Neppl made his retirement official March 31, 2011.  Everyone at Western Iowa Energy including Unit Holders, Board Members and fellow employees owe Joe a debt of gratitude for his dedication and service to the Company. 

Starting in mid-January, Western Iowa Energy began a search for a new Chief Financial Officer.  During the process over twenty candidates were considered.  By the end of February WIE identified Brad Wilson as the most qualified candidate for the position.

As Western Iowa Energy’s Chief Financial Officer, Brad Wilson is responsible for the financial stewardship of the company, including capital and operating budgets, financial affairs and reporting, debt/treasury management. He is charged with the task of upholding strong financial management and accountability while providing timely, accurate, and reliable financial information and enhancing internal control.

Wilson began his career in the Agribusiness industry with Gardiner Thomsen, CPA’s as a financial auditor, auditing farmer owned cooperatives across the central US region. Since then, he’s worked as an Internal Auditor and Business Analyst with West Central Cooperative in Ralston, Iowa. While at WCC, Wilson spearheaded accounting and finance for the external biodiesel plants prior to the existence of REG.

Wilson holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting, from the University of Central Oklahoma and a Master of Business Administration degree from Iowa State University.
